Combining performing, sound engineering and production can be difficult. Being the owner of Maple Hill Studio, I strive to coalesce these skills into an effective package. Possessing vocal and instrumental abilities, I am an artist and detail-oriented producer and engineer, with a growing portfolio of quality releases; a solid songwriter with the talent and accrued experience to excel in both the performance and business aspects of the music industry.
It Can’t Get Any Better – by Eric Johnson – is the newest release from Maple Hill Studio and EJM,
This is an interesting collection of songs from a “creative origin” perspective. A large portion of this project has been stewing for most of the last eight years. A few of the songs are new and fresh. And a couple of old ones have been injected with new life thanks to my incredible musician friends, Andy Reed, Donny Brown and Jeff Black. Thank you guys, for your recent contributions to this project which have been the final catalyst to bring this production to a close.
I‘m always writing and recording my own songs, as well as looking for exciting, interesting artists to produce. New projects are always in the works. For detailed information about me, read my bio, view the discography, and get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Born in Decatur, Illinois in 1960, I don’t ever remember not loving music. I don’t remember not singing. Shuffling through my parents LPs, listening to the soundtrack from Camelot, or The Letterman, and their ilk was my early musical education. I grew up singing in the church youth choir my mother directed in grade school. By the time I was in high school I was accomplished enough to sing in advanced choirs and compete at the state level. After graduating high school I cut my teeth on rock ‘n’ roll with a band called “Spectrum”. Also in high school, I received my first guitar. I think I knew four chords when I wrote my first song. I’ve progressed to the point where I try to bring a vibrant flare to more traditional songwriting standards.
As an adult God spoke into my heart that I am a psalmist, meaning, songwriter. So thats what I do all the time. I love it and am so blessed to be able to make Music From Maple Hill.
Maple Hill Studio is my current base of operations where I record my own material and provide audio/video services for customers from a wide variety of genres of music.
A quick glance into my catalog of will reveal over 350 original pieces of musical composition. In 2016 I’m looking forward to releasing four distinctly different projects of my own material as well as performing solo dates in support of my 2015 release “It Can’t Get Any Better”.
Currently I’m also playing guitar, singing and playing harmonica with 23 North, a large variety band featuring a four piece horn section and five vocalists. I was also recently named by “The Review” magazine, In a reader poll, Best Male Blues Vocalist”
Contact me: email@example.com if you have any questions or would like to book me for an event you’re promoting. In the meantime I’ll keep making Music From Maple Hill.

Happy Holidays All!
Back from a holiday reprieve, I’m already listening to material for the next release!
I think I have a problem!!!!!!!!!
In The Moment was originally going to be the title track for UglyASin because the song’s message resonates with the footsteps of my spiritual journey.
Hopefully , always, I’m going to “be there in the moment”.
Well, its been a busy year of writing and recording music. 2017 looks to be even busier with quite a few current and prospective customers working at Maple Hill Studio. So its a good thing I got these new CDs out because I already have several more projects in the pipeline and time for myself in the studio is going to start to disappear as the customers increase. More about those upcoming releases later.
For now let me introduce you to my newest CD
Uhuh a 7 song collection of instrumental jazz/rock fusion that’s got a sweet, soothing sound but also an edge that will keep your attention. This is truly a collaboration because Donny Brown cowrote two of these tracks and provided drums on five tracks. The great Jeff Wallikangas and the incredible Rick Armstrong provide the bass while Ryan Cooper on keys, Jacob Wisenbach on trumpet, and Mike George on saxaphone fill this lush production out while the project still centers on my guitar.
Not to be outdone, my inner rocker rages on UGLYASin, an homage to the circle of dust! Four current originals featuring Andy Reed on bass and Nate Place and Ty Keyser on drums. Mike Stillwagon and Jeff Black provide killer guitar work. I handle the vocals, some guitar and keys. The project is bolstered by two bonus tracks from the original UGLYASin which featured Tim Tanner on drums and Jeff Black on bass.

I like exciting stuff. Maybe its just me. Well it probably isn’t just me who is excited about tonight’s Saginaw On Stage appearance by 23 North. We are a ten piece variety band looking for an 11th piece (calling all keyboardists! We are also looking for a new bass player. Yoo Hoo!!
My baby and the center of my career focus is Maple Hill Studio. Excited is the perfect word to describe my feelings when I hear that a song produced by me here at Maple Hill Studio is currently the “fifth fastest song added to radio station playlists” according to Spin Tracking Systems. Great job Donald Benjamin!
Finally, being nominated in four categories at the 2016 Review Music Awards is an honor. Truly driven by local music lovers! Thats! exciting!
Well, I better calm down and rest for tonight’s performance.
This song is called “for my Friends” I hope you enjoy it!
May the Circle be unbroken.
How many are my foes
They rise up against me
They say my God is dead
But I say He lifts my head
I call out to the Lord,
I cry out to Him
And He answers me
I lie down and sleep
I lie down and sleep
He awakens me
He awakens me
I will not fear
I will not fear
As thousands fall on every side
Deliver me, my God!
Based on Psalm 3:1-7
“Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.”
Proverbs 3:13-18 NIV
